Popular amongst tourists and students for its beautiful sea views and cozy cafes, Kennedy Town is located at one end of the MTR Island Line. Whether you’re a student living in the area or happen to be visiting Hong Kong, here’s a list of places you can visit in the area!
Grab Dim Sum at Sun Hing Restaurant

Start off your day with breakfast or brunch at Sun Hing Restaurant. Serving up fresh Dim Sum from 3am everyday, the restaurant has been running in the same location since 1990. While the busy atmosphere can be a sensory overload, the food does not disappoint. From classic dishes like Siu Mai to chicken feet, there is a wide variety of Dim Sum to choose from. Don’t miss out on their popular salted egg-yolk custard buns! The sweet and runny filling will leave you craving for more.
Take a walk down to the promenade

Just down the road is the Belcher Bay Promenade. Glimpse a view of the sea and enjoy the cool breeze if the weather is good. You’ll likely bump into some dogs on a walk and skateboarders practicing tricks. Sit by the edge of the pier or at a bench facing the ocean.
Sai Wan swimming shed

If you’re up for a bit of a longer walk, head down to the Sai Wan swimming shed which has a small wooden bridge that extends out to the ocean. An amazing place to catch the sunset and take some aesthetic photos.
Grab a cup of coffee at Arabica

Need a break but don’t want to miss out on the ocean views? Sit down for a cup coffee at Arabica Kennedy Town. The two story cafe has large windows facing the sea, giving customers a perfect view to relax and enjoy their drinks.
Indulge in some Gelato at Dolce

Drop by Dolce for a sweet treat! Offering unique options like Thai tea and Yuzu to Hong Kong inspired flavours like Lemon Tea and Black Sesame. And if you’re an HKU student, don’t miss out on the 10% discount.
Finish the day with dinner at Hoho Restaurant

Sit down for a comforting meal at Hoho Restaurant. Open until 4am, this spot is popular amongst students and locals for their affordable yet tasty dishes. Try some local snacks such as their curry fishballs and pan-fried rice rolls with egg, or go for Cantonese dishes served with steamed rice for a filling meal.
A late night drink at The Key Coffee

Just halfway up the hill from Exit A of Kennedy Town Station is a cosy cafe offering coffee, matcha, as well as alcohol in the evening. Try their Irish coffee or espresso martini if you want a little booze, or opt for their normal lattes and hand-drip coffees. If coffee is not your thing, they offer matcha as well! A popular item on their menu is the strawberry matcha.
These are only a few of the many local shops and restaurants to explore in Kennedy Town, so take this as a sign to take a trip to the end of the Island line and explore for a day!
